About the Sparkly Edition
The Sparkly Edition of A Course in Miracles is based on Bill Thetford’s edit and is often called the “Sparkly” Edition due to its shimmering cover. It is also referred to as the Thetford Redaction or the Hugh Lynn Cayce Version.
In Helen’s Notes: Dialogues with Jesus, we learn that Bill Thetford was specifically assigned by Jesus to determine what would remain or be omitted from the Course. The Sparkly Edition restores over 25,000 words, bringing back essential teachings on the Soul, Inner Guidance, Asking and Listening, Freud, Sexual Impulses, Miracles, and living with purpose in this world.
Why the Sparkly Edition?
With several versions of A Course in Miracles available, many have asked why we chose to publish and distribute the Sparkly Edition.
This edition was given to me (Britney Shawley) in 2010, shortly after a life-changing experience with Jesus. The cover, adorned with “Jesus,” resonated deeply with me, and I instantly knew this was the path I was meant to follow. Beyond its significance in my personal journey, this edition restores vital content—particularly in the first eight chapters—offering profound and practical insights for applying the Course’s teachings in daily life.
Through a series of extraordinary miracles, my partner Tom and I became publishers and distributors of this edition through The Borderland Foundation, a public charity dedicated to sharing A Course in Miracles freely with the world. We are honored to continue this work and invite you to explore the book further through the links provided, including access to a PDF version.

What is A Course in Miracles?
A Course in Miracles is a profound psychological and spiritual tool for mind training and inner peace. Through its structured curriculum—consisting of 31 chapters, 365 daily lessons, and a Manual for Teachers—it helps us shift from the ego’s thought system to the Holy Spirit’s, replacing fear with love.
The Course offers deep insights into psychology, philosophy, metaphysics, forgiveness, miracles, inner guidance, and the power of decision-making. It teaches us how to pray, ask, listen, and trust, so that we may heal and be healed.
A central focus of its teachings is relationships—guiding us to transform special relationships into holy ones. Through this process, we learn to train our minds to think with God, embrace our special function by listening to His Voice, and extend miracles and peace to the world through His guidance.
“You are entitled to miracles because of what you are.

And you will offer miracles because you are one with God.
